James E. Fabbrini


Founded in 2006 by James E. Fabbrini, the Fabbrini Law Group LLC has grown to become recognized in Chicago as a firm specializing in criminal defense and personal injury law as well as a wide variety of related litigation.

James Fabbrini earned his law degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2000 and his bachelor of arts degree from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1995, where he also played varsity hockey as a goaltender.

Known for his professionalism, James is a tireless advocate for his client’s rights. He has experience litigating and settling all types of criminal defense cases and personal injury claims. He has tried more than 100 jury trials, countless bench trials, and argued numerous hearings and motions on behalf of his clients. With 20 years of courtroom experience, James has earned a reputation as one of the top trial lawyers in Chicago and is often times retained by other attorneys to take difficult cases to trial.

James has conducted educational conferences and seminars and has helped mentor many new litigators in the fields of criminal defense and personal injury law. His firm also sponsors an internship program under which prospective law school applicants are introduced to the many different aspects of the practice of law in Cook County.


Nichole Massarello


Nichole Massarello focuses her practice in the area of criminal defense. For the past decade, Nichole has represented the accused in all areas of criminal law. She has successfully litigated complex matters, including first-degree murders, weapons charges, major narcotics offenses, and other violent crimes. She has also secured the expungement and sealing of clients’ past criminal records and obtained positive outcomes in misdemeanor cases involving driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on suspended or revoked license citations, domestic violence allegations, and battery charges. She has extensive experience throughout the Cook County Court System appearing before judges and prosecutors on a daily basis.

Nichole also litigates cases in surrounding areas, including Northern District of Illinois Federal Court, and DuPage, Lake, and Will counties. Nichole has earned a reputation as a zealous advocate for her clients with exceptional skills in the areas of legal research, motion practice, and trial advocacy. Her experience and expertise are critical in helping her clients navigate the complex, and often intimidating, criminal justice process.

When not practicing law, Nichole volunteers her time working in her community. Nichole attends seminars and advocates for inmate rights. Nichole also serves on the board of directors for The Warehouse Project & Gallery. Under her direction, TWPG has become a cornerstone of the Summit community, providing a safe environment for at-risk youth to create social change through the arts. Nichole has organized numerous fundraisers and events with the goal of providing youth in the community a space to explore artistic avenues that inspire positive change.
